DATE PRINTED: 1763 or shortly afterwards. 

SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 25.5 x 20 cm, 10 x 7.75 inches (medium) plus margins

ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER Thomas Kitchin (or Thomas Kitchen) (1718–1784) was an English engraver and cartographer, who became hydrographer to the king.

PROVENANCE: This view was published in 1764 by R & J Dodsley in “England Illustrated or, a Compendium of the Natural History, Geography, Topography, and Antiquities Ecclesiastical and Civil, of England and Wales: with maps of the several counties, and engravings of many remains of antiquity, remarkable buildings, and principal towns.”  A final issue occurred the following year in 'Kitchen's English Atlas."

TYPE: Antique copper plate engraving with a blank back.

VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank.

CONDITION: Very good. Suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Virtually all antiquarian maps and prints are subject to some normal aging due to use and time which is not significant unless otherwise stated.
