The Seasons by James Thomson, Printed by Whiting & Leavenworth for Thomas, Andrews,and Penniman, Albany, 1801. With the Life of the Author by Samuel Johnson. Full contemporary calf with red and gold leather label on spine. 164 pp.(Last page is numbered 163 because p.161 not numbered or counted as issued), including XIV pp. for the "Life". Complete.

Condition: Full Calf binding is scuffed with some water staining and warping to back board. Binding is tight and joints are in good shape. Endpapers and title page show some discoloration, insect damage not affecting text and a few damp stains. By and large, the text is clean with minor foxing.  No unpleasant odor. Printers Daniel Whiting and David Leavenworth bought the Albany Centinel in 1801 from Loring Andrews, a partner of Isaiah Thomas. This book is a product of this relationship between some of the most powerful printer/publishers of the day.
