Ukrainian national clothing is a bright, visually fixed manifestation of the identity of our culture and is one of its most mobile types. The modern reader will be interested to know what our grandparents wore, what beauty canons they followed. The illustrative selection of the publication will present traditional complexes, details of clothing and accessories of authentic clothes of the Forest Steppe from private and museum collections of Ukraine. The book contains information of a historical, ethnographic and local history nature; in particular, special attention will be focused on the artistic features and symbolic filling of elements of folk architecture. The text of the publication is accompanied by a glossary of terms that reflect the realities of folk life in the 20th century, which were widely used at the time, but today, unfortunately, are known only to a narrow circle of specialists.
