Here we have my VTA S-501 tool for hand setting the SEIKO 6138 and 6139 (Chronograph) movements. This is my new 2023 model which has some minor revisions.
The new version of the tool now uses an adjustable metal dowel so it can better deal with the A and B variants of the movement. Adjustment is done via simple screw adjustment. An "Allen Key" tool is included with the tool for adjustment.
For 2020, I have deleted the dowel for the minute counter as after working on around 1000 of these movements, I am yet to have a major issue with dislodged bushes due to hand fitting when done correctly.
The new pushers are captive and sprung, which makes working on the movement faster and less fiddly.
The tool will ship in a different colour from time to time without notice. The button colours will either be red, yellow or pink depending on which material I am using at the time.
The watch movement is NOT included with the auction and is for demonstration only!
This tool is an exact fit for the movement and is based on the S-501 holder which was originally sold by SEIKO but is long since discontinued. The tool has multiple rings to accomodate the different dial spacer ring sizes from various references.
The new tool replaces the S-501 and S-500 tools.
