OLD ROSE DISTILLING CO - 1910 Calendar Souvenir China Plate CHICAGO ILLINOIS

Full of handsome antique character, this very old souvenir plate is from just before Chicago's gangster era!  Before prohibition, Chicago's Old Rose Distilling Company started out with one retail store in 1902 but quickly expanded to many more. They advertised heavily and part of their ad campaign included these very collectible calendar plates!

The plate measures 9 3/8th inches at its widest point.  Inside of the plates fancy gold accented scalloped edges are the monthly calendars for 1910 at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock accented in Art Nouveau looped style with rose florals in between.  A large rose dominates the top half of the plate and the 13 locations of Old Rose is found in scroll in the bottom half.  The back of the plate is plain with no makers mark.

The colors on this 113+-year-old plate are quite strong, but its age is showing in other ways.  There is one chip at about 4 o'clock on the plate's edge.  Crazing is evident on both sides of the plate.  The back of the plate has a surface crack at about 5 o'clock on the edge working inward a couple inches.  Please see the photos for details and condition.

Plate will be carefully wrapped for shipment to you by USPS priority mail.
