Union Grove Co-op Milk Bottle, Qt. Green Pyro, Chicago, IL, RMB Collectables
This is a green pyro-glazed and embossed quart milk bottle from
the Union Grove Milk Creamery Company Dairy
Farm which was
located in Chicago, Illinois. The bottle is only labeled on one side. There is a picture of a mother pouring a glass of milk at the table for her baby and says,
"Union Grove Milk" and is embossed "Union Grove Creamery Co." around the top shoulder of the bottle. The
bottom heel of the bottle is embossed, "Owned & Filled By Union
Grove Creamery Co. Chicago Ill.". This milk bottle
has seen some wear. While there are no cracks, breaks, or chips, the bottle does show case - wear and scratches. The
green pyro has begun to fade and some paint is missing, but it is fully readable. This is embossed with the block letters "UG" on the bottom and a 36, likely indicating the bottle was produced in 1936.
