Iroquois Informal Blue Diamonds Oval Platter & Serving Bowl, by Ben Seibel, 1958, USA

This original design — Blue Diamonds — was one of 4 patterns in the Iroquois Informal line designed by Ben Seibel and introduced in 1958.

The following copy is taken from the original brochure:

An understated masterpiece of marvelous adaptability to either country provincial or elegant modern settings, three floral diamonds in Bristol blue and charcoal grey are lightly accented with yellow on a translucent white china background. Reverse side color repeats Bristol blue with magnificent, appealing clarity.

Guaranteed against chipping or breaking for 3 full years.

Cook, Bake, Broil — Even Fry — Then Serve in This True China That’s So Durable It’s Replaced Free if it Chips or Breaks.*

Both the oval platter and the oval bowl have two ends that are higher than the sides adding to the beautiful mid-century design.
