A rare edition of the Mugwumps, the predecessor of the Mamas and the Papas and the Lovin' Spoonful!

A legendary group that included Cass Elliott and Denny Doherty, who later became members of the Mamas and the Papas, and Zal Yanofsky, who later became a member of the Lovin' Spoonful.
The Mugwumps disbanded after only eight months, but in 1967, an album containing their valuable recordings was released.

From R&B covers by the Coasters and Bo Diddley to originals co-written by Elliott and Jim Hendrix, the band performs folk-rock numbers with a rare touch, similar to the Mamas and the Papas.
