A WONDERFULLY RARE 1860’S CHILD’S BONNET.
FASHIONED OF A STIFFENED BASE WITH THE TOP IN VALENCIENNES LACE WITH A STIFFENED EDGE THAT IS COMPLETELY COVERED IN TINY SILK RIBBON LOOPS FULLY AROUND.
INTERIOR EDGES ARE LINED IN SILK AND IT IS DRAWN IN AROUND AND OPEN INNER CROWN. SILK TIES ARE ATTACHED AT THE SIDES.
CONDITION: SOME AGE STAINING SEEN ON THE INTERIOR LINING. A FEW SMALL AGE SPOTS ON THE LACE AT THE TOP. THE SILK TIES SHOW SOME WEAR AND SOME STAINING BUT STILL USEABLE, THEY ARE JUST PINNED IN PLACE IN THE INTERIOR.
