Marguerite Kirmse (1885-1954) is one of America's most beloved dog artists. Her background in dogs as a breeder and owner of Scottish Terriers only added to her ability to portray dogs in their most realistic and most amusing lights. 

Among the most coveted of Scottie collectibles are the Kirmse bronzes. The detail and breed character these bronzes present is truly outstanding. The bronzes were produced by the Gorham Foundry, and collectors will know that Gorham's work is among the best. This is the crouching pose, the dog shown ready to play. Fully marked. The bronze measures 3 3/4" long by 1 3/4" tall.
