Solid and sturdy low fireside chair of hard rock maple.  Legs are 6” H and seat slants slightly to back to provide ability to extend legs and still be seated comfortably by the fire.  This type of chair might have been used at National Park lodges and resorts. 

The front seat corner has “ chew marks”(see photo).  Otherwise the chair is intact with wearing due to age.
