Maiogi Dance Fan
Design:
This exclusive, vintage maiogi dance fan was made by Kyosendo, of Kyoto’s renown fan makers for a famous Japan Buyo dance troupe. It appears to have been presented to the original owner by the performing artist Fujisen Shousen. It is silvery eggshell-white with the wisteria kamon crest of Fujisen-Ryu on eachside. The struts are natural lacquered bamboo with lead weights. It measures about 20” or 52cm from tip to tip when open and is 12” or about 30cm long when closed.
Condition:
Vintage, it appears never to have been used. It is sturdy and sound without any structural issues. It comes in its original box and packaging - see photos.
