Vintage Well Made Heavy Trippensee Planetarium

Very clean vintage item. Look at pictures for condition and description 

Small wear present consistent with approximate age and usage

The sun globe is NOT cracked 

The earth globe is in good condition 

Gears are operational and turn freely 

Chain is not broken

Compass is operational

Made in Michigan, US

There is typical paint loss to base pole and planets, consistent with usage 

Overall, this system is in great condition and seems well cared for

Composition seems to be Bakelite and cast iron base

The year forged in the cast iron base is hard to read, seems 1908 is the closest I can get. However, Bakelite was introduced in 1909. So, don’t take me on in. 

This is most likely a model from the 1940s in great shape. Not many this clean around
