My findings show that 100 percent of the panes were printed with the dark rose printed over the black and that 90 percent were printed with the blue over black. That would make the normal printing rose and blue over black. This means the catalogs are wrong in their description. What they describe as a reverse printing is really the normal printing and what the catalogs describe as the normal printing does not exist (as yet). At this point a black over red stamp, if found, would be extremely rare.
The partial reverse printing that is actual rose over black and black over blue are found on about 10 percent of the panes.
This can be found on either the right or left panes.
If you look carefully (under magnification) at the hoist ends you can see that the red is over the black. The catalogues will need to be changed soon to reflect all that we have learned about this series. The new US Specialist study group will be posting its finding in the near future.
