Description of the coin

On the obverse of the coin in the upper part of the disk there is the coat of arms of the USSR of 1956: a hammer and sickle against the background of the globe, under it the rising sun, at the top there is a five-pointed star; on the sides of the ears, tied with fifteen turns of ribbon, the lower turn is much wider, symbolizing the RSFSR (the rest of the turns are other republics). The denomination is indicated below the coat of arms: a large stylized number "1", under which the word "RUBLE" is horizontally located. On the sides is the inscription "USSR", divided into two parts.

On the reverse of the coin, in the foreground, there is a statue of the Motherland in Volgograd (former Stalingrad). Along the edge along the circumference is the inscription "THIRTY YEARS OF VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR". In the background: on the left - a large five-pointed star, inside of which there is a sickle and a hammer, below it - the dates "1941-1945"; across the entire field are six, intersecting, vertical stripes. At the bottom right is a small mint mark.

On the obverse and reverse of the coin there is a edging protruding along the circumference.
