Our Acadian Heritage – Let’s Keep it!  1755-1955

The French people of the Canadian province of Acadia were dispossessed by the English in the mid-1700’s.  Families were separated, and the people forcibly dispersed in many directions: southward in North America and to the West Indies, and eastward back to France.  Over the years many made their way to the French colony in what is now South Louisiana.   

         This booklet was made to introduce Louisiana schoolchildren to what had happened to their ancestors and to appreciate their cultural heritage of language, songs, and recipes.

Softcover booklet in Very Good condition.  Book is clean and tightly stapled.  Covers have a little wear at corners and tanning near the edges.  Pages are glossy, with no writing.  8 ½ x 11 inches, no page numbers. [22464-2304]
