Stoneware pitcher with speckled clay body glazed in an almost celadon-green gray. It’s further accented by a band of iron oxide glaze and highlighted with a light green stripe at the top and bottom of the band. The pitcher is formed in a classic, milk jug-like shape. It has an expertly applied handle, which has a single ridge running through the middle. The spout is generously shaped and thoughtfully formed to begin from the wider base to aid in pouring. The pitcher is marked on the bottom, but other than “USA” I’m unable to interpret the markings. The pitcher was definitely handmade, though it was done by a skilled craftsperson. This would be a delightful addition to any rustic, bohemian or farmhouse table.

Approximately 8 inches tall, 7 inches wide at its widest point, 6 inches wide at the base, 4 inches at the mouth, 2 quart capacity.  Condition is very good with no chips, cracks or other signs of damage. The glaze does have a faint crazing, consistent with age and use.
