Igbo voice can be spoken and heard in contemporary musical forum, only when we are capable of perceiving, explaining and creating what Nzewi refers to as "continuum for African musical wisdom through research, performing and mentally liberating education." In contemporary AfricanIgbo church, there is need to reawaken and revive the seemingly dead 'Igbo music spirit' in the general creation and performance of church music of the present generation of Christians; using as aspect of the early Christian music (youth songs) as a base. This can be achieved by providing befitting indigenous alternatives to or replacements for the so called imported musical traditions that seem to be taking over the Igbo church musical heritage. By creating original acceptable contemporary sacred work of international standard, we are reviving and preserving an aspect of Igbo indigenous musical culture in the musical repertory of Igbo Christian church, hence the choice of Contemporary African Art Music for Christian Worship in Igbo Liturgy.
