Legislation was passed in March 2013 by the NSW Government to prevent children falling from windows. All windows above the ground floor in any existing residential strata schemes must be fitted with a lock or safety device which prevents the window opening more than 12.5cm. Owners corporations will have 5 years to fit these devices retrospectively.
