In the 1970's Trimpe art for The Incredible Hulk was recognized as groundbreaking. He was then selected to be the first artist to draw Wolverine. His art propelled the character to wide popularity. He worked on Captain America, Iron Man and became a driving force behind GI Joe and the Transformers. He has been honored with the Inkpot award and the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award his work as an Episcopal Deacon at the World Trade Center site following the September 11 attacks.
