- external IBM 3.5" floppy disk drive 1.44 MB
- IBM PCMCIA 28.8 kbps fax/modem (untested but worked 10 years ago)
- external Generic PCMCIA CD-ROM with diskette drivers
- Serial port to USB-A adapter
- removable battery
What works:
- boots (hit F1 to go to Win98) and runs on AC power
- audio/sound
- video/graphics
- ports including PCMCIA, serial, VGA
- included Dell mouse
- keyboard and all keys
- external IBM 3.5" floppy disk drive
In poor shape:
- left button on keypad is held by some tape, but works otherwise if you press hard enough, could be fixed easily
- screen does show the pointers' marks after a number of years but it's a small blemish (see photo)
- carrying case has visible signs of wear
Defective or not tested (i.e. AS-IS):
- external PCMCIA CD-ROM gets power, spins but does not read (not sure if it's a driver issue), however I am including it as part of the sale as I have no use for it alone
- the 28.8 kbps fax/modem used to work 10 years ago, though it has not been tested recently and I do not have a landline to retest
- battery is dead and does not hold a charge
- serial to USB-A adapter: my own USB mouse works but was not able to test a USB drive due to missing drivers
I would like this to go to a DIYer, collector or a
retro gamer! It's a 27 year old computer but still runs and can run some
games and basic apps. Also there's room for expansion, tinkering and
fixing!
