This wonderful vintage tankard mug was distributed in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee 1952 - 1977.
The mug has a white body, a clear glaze, and silver toned gilding on the top rim, along the bottom and on the handle.
Featuring Queen Elizabeth II’s Coat of Arms on the front it reads the following as part of the design:
HONI SOIT MAL Y PENSE - French for ‘shamed be the person who thinks evil of it’ motto of the Order of the Garter
And
DIEU ET MON DROIT - (translation 'God and my right' and is the motto of the monarch of the United Kingdom)

| Measuring approximately 4 3/4” tall, 5” wide including the handle and 3 1/2” in diameter at the top and 3 3/4” in diameter at the bottom, the mug has been well cared for and displayed as part of my daughter’s collection in a smoke free home for many years. The mug is in excellent vintage preowned condition with no chips, hairlines or restorations. There is overall light crazing indicative of age and a few manufacturing marks which are under the glaze. Both designs are free of wear and the colors are still bold and vibrant. Marking an unforgettable moment in time, this splendid piece would be a wonderful addition to your own personal collection or a perfect gift for someone watching The Crown, The White Queen, The White Princess, The Spanish Princess, The Tudors or a number of other television shows and movies about the British Monarchy.
