Excellent, clean and undamaged condition, minor loss of enamel around spout and knob.


Rare Iriyama teapot , heavily enamelled off white with a cottage scenery on front signed ‘Iriyama’ and trees on the other side of teapot. Design appears to be enamel painted (or lacquer painted?)


HAKUO IRIYAMA was a renowned Japanese lacquer artist born in 1904 and passed away in 1991. He developed his own style of lacquer painting which he named ‘Shitsuga’. (ref: Google)


Capacity is 4.5 standard measuring cups , 5 standard measuring cups close to the rim.


Measures 15x24x13cm including lid measured from spout to handle, 43cm diameter below base of spout and handle.


No markings anywhere other than the signature below the scenery. Definitely made in Japan.
