Victorian
footstool enclosing removable cuspidor/spitoon
This
all-original stool is hexagonal, with a padded top comprising hand-stitched
wool tapestry with stylised floral design on dark red ground, in intact and
clean condition.
There is
a moulded edge surrounding the pad, and zigzag inlay around the lower body.
All
sitting on original ceramic feet.
The lid
is hinged, opening onto a hexagonal, fitted treacle-glazed cuspidor, in
excellent condition, bar some scratches, with a hole in the centre, and an
emptying hole in the side.
