The race-winning Porsche 917 driven by Leo Kinnunen and Pedro Rodriguez looks battered and bruised in this photo. Following the race, Porsche strengthened the fiberglass bodies to avoid this kind of damage. In the background is the Corvette of Jerry Thompson and John Mahler, which took top honors in the over-2,000cc GT class.
