Union Carbide ran a series of ads in the early 1950s, each a painting of different locations and items, each with a large hand or two doing something.

This one is about the Electric Arc Furnace and the Carbon rods used in them. The painting is of a hand with glowing fingers in a melting pot.

Text starts “What’s cooking” and goes on about carbon and graphite electrodes that Union Carbide makes.

This ad is full page, approx. 7” x 10”, carefully removed from an actual 1951 magazine.
