Published by Fashion Academy of New York City during the Great Depression of the Thirties (1930s) to advertise courses in fashion education.


The book is illustrated with people dressed in fancy Victorian clothes. Contents include an illustration at the front of the book and a fold-out brochure showing “fashion Academy tuition fees”


The tuition fee fold-out describes options for students.


“Tuition includes all textbook supplies practice materials life class lectures charts, admission to special events planned by the school in our student privileges. There is no extra expense attached to the course.”


“Tuition may be paid in advance for a group of three months or for the entire term of 10 months double session or 20 months regular session. Tuition for a double session is the most intensive method of attendance giving the students double demonstrations daily both morning and afternoon and enabling her to complete a term in six months of six months in three months time of the year and six months and a timer for 20 minutes in 10 months complete certificate course takes 10 months tuition – – $580 for each group of three months.”
