If one was a college football fan in the 1970s, surely one remembers the greatness of the Brigham Young University Cougar's All American Quarterback, Gifford Nielsen.  Not only was Gifford Nielson Offensive Player of the Year in 1976, but he also captured sixth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.  Gifford was so good that BYU retired his Number 14 jersey, and Mr. Nielsen was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994.

Included with the great action photo of Gifford Nielsen, I am also sending to the buyer a four-page pamphlet of Gifford Nielsen's accomplishments at BYU, both on and off the field.

Although LaVell Edwards, BYU's Head Coach, heaped accolades and praise upon Gifford Nielsen, I thought Gifford's QB Coach, Doug Scovil, said it best.  (Scovil also had coached Roger Stauback at Navy years before.)  Said Scovil, and I quote, "Gifford Nielsen is the same type of young man Roger Stauback was at the Naval Academy, a super leader."  Enough said!

I am listing this on EBAY for twofold reasons:  (1) my advancing age, and, (2) my health concerns.  I hope someone will take this and fondly remember Mr. Nielsen's fantastic collegiate career.

Thank you for viewing my EBAY auction item.  (Please note:  I do not ship internationally.)  God bless.
