The ceramic teapot has no chips, but shows some discoloration on the bottom where it makes contact with surfaces it sits on. Water heats up and passes through the brewer as it should. This item has been wiped down and cleaned up fairly well, but the buyer may want to wash it before use, as with any used food or drink items. 

It comes with the box and instructions. Also includes Green Tea Book.
