Each tube is made from 4 distinct paper per the 1860 instructions...there is a Powder Case...Inner Wrapper and Outer wrapper...and a gummed band showing the maker..."E & A Ludlow Birmingham".

Made from the 1860 style Enfield cartridge.  These are empty tubes.  Just fill with 68 grains or 2 1/2 drams of black powder...twist the end and you have a complete cartridge.  The "bullet" is made from paper towel.  The bullet end of the cartridge is dipped in 100% pure beeswax, no tallow.

Wrap 10 cartridges in provided wrapper that has a period correct stamp and you have a complete Aresenal pack.  Wrap all 40 for a complete issue for your cartridge box.
