The history of tubes

Novik Tubes, when selling tubes on the market, not only carefully tests them on professional measuring equipment, but also studies the evolution of modifications of this type of tube depending on the year of manufacture and manufacturer for a better assessment of sound quality and, accordingly, a more objective assessment of cost.

6N6P is one of the few types of Soviet tubes that was originally developed for military needs (therefore, the E prefix never existed), and did not have and does not have exact analogues!

In the mid-50s, the first samples were made in small batches in Fryazino from expensive components and turned out to be very good in sound (but this was only discovered 50 years later). However, the build quality was not very good with a very wide range of parameters! At the end of the 50s, serial production began in Tashkent (FOTON plant) and the build quality became better, but they were slightly inferior in sound! also had several design changes in 7 years! in mid-1965, Photon stopped producing all types of vacuum tubes including 6N6P

From 66 to 69, this lamp with a very similar, but different logo, was produced (presumably) in Saratov (but not on the reflector)

From 1967 to mid-1990, Novosibirsk produced it en masse in huge quantities.

Testing process:

All tubes sold by us are tested on a high-quality Soviet device L3-3. In our laboratory there are three L3-3 of the latest modifications and several ancient L1-3, each of which has its own modifications to make the selection of tubes as accurate and high-quality as possible.

If applicable, we also test the tubes for noiselessness on a special amplifier bench assembled for such tests.

When selecting tubes, we try to choose tubes that are as similar as possible in terms of their parameters. The matched pairs\quads shown in the photo are one such example. The meanings themselves vary from pair to pair. If you want to have a pair with certain values or know them before buying - please write to us.

Our standards:

1.    All tubes we sell have never been used and have been stored in warehouses. We carry out a careful selection and testing of all tubes on a variety of parameters.

2.    We package all items securely to prevent any damage during transit.

3.    If you have special requests for tubes, we are always open to dialogue.

We have over 40 years of experience with tube amps, during which time we have encountered the most unusual problems and are always ready to share our experience.

About us:

Qualitatively tested and selected tubes at a reasonable price! Savers, adapters and converters for customers who decide to play pipe rolling or extend the life of their tube amp!

We are constantly in touch and try to help everyone who decides to join the world of hot tubes! The main thing is that it is beautiful and cool!

We are grateful to our colleagues from China, who, with their prices that are impossible for a Western manufacturer (American or European), made tube amplifiers affordable for a non-rich client! (Expanded the market at times)

We are rediscovering for ourselves some types of tubes, which (it turns out) can be very different in sound from the year of manufacture, batch, plant, country! Constant monitoring of the forums will help us, as well as many years of experience in testing tubes and making professional tube amplifiers!

Practically, all NOS tubes (our subjective opinion) have never been made for HIFI. Especially Soviet ones! That is why you have to look and try! Less hearing from others, more listening to yourself - We are all different!

Considering that many types had a military purpose and are therefore very reliable! The entire modern remake is an order of magnitude worse in this parameter.

Special orders:
