Fully titled and subtitled, The Invisible Wall : Germans and Jews.  Authored by W. Michael Blumenthal.  This is the softback edition published in 1998 by Counterpoint.  It is the 6th Printing of the paperback (number line ends in 6).  NICELY INSCRIBED TO PETER FEIGL AND SIGNED BY AUTHOR W. MICHAEL BLUMENTHAL on a bookplate behind the front cover.  Peter Fiegl was a Holocaust survivor and is now a volunteer at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.  From the Museum's bio on Peter:

"Peter immigrated to the United States in July 1946 where he served three years in the U.S. Air Force. For 35 years, Peter pursued a career in international sales of aircraft and related services in the private sector and spent over five years as a Senior Negotiator in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Since retiring, Peter has traveled around the world speaking about his history and two diaries he wrote detailing his experiences during the Holocaust. In 1954, Peter married Leonie Warschauer and had two daughters. He is now a volunteer at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum."

The book was well used by Peter for personal research, with many pages dog-eared and many pages with yellow highlight, and some ink markings and underlines.  All the dogears are straightened.  The covers show edge and corner wear, with the glossy film starting to pull back on the bottoms of the front and back covers.  I would characterize the book's quality as acceptable.

A brief synopsis found online:  "This text is one man's quest to understand the failure of the German-Jewish relationship to explain the character and attitudes of Germany's assimilated Jews over a 300-year period. Juxtaposing the broad picture of history and politics in Germany against the stories of six of his own ancestors, Blumental explores the triumphs and tragedies of Jews of succesive generations, seeking the sources and outcomes of the prejudices that separated them from other Germans."
