Antique Victorian Portrait Brooch Sterling Regency Children Kate Greenway Scene
We are currently offering for sale this lovely rare antique Victorian sterling silver cameo portrait brooch depicting two Regency period children sitting on a fence surrounded with flowers snuggled under a parasol. circa 1890 or about. The brooch is made after a scene by Kate Greenway (1846-1901) entitled “Summer”. It is a lovely scene. It is unmarked and unsigned, but tests sterling. It measures approximately 1 5/8" in diameter. The brooch has a 3D quality to it, the children's features, parasol edges, and ornate details of the brooch are three dimensional. It is in good vintage condition. It closes with a trombone clasp.
