This is a first-generation COPY of 40 storyboard pages used by the Hanna-Barbera artists for the production of an episode of SUPER FRIENDS: THE LEGENDARY SUPER POWERS SHOW from 1984. Storyboards are vital to the animation process and are used to make sure all of the artists know what’s going on in the story and how to frame the action. The storyboards are from the series’ second episode, titled “The Wrath of Brainiac”. In the episode, the redesigned Brainiac is introduced and creates android duplicates of Superman and Wonder Woman to capture and exact his revenge on the Super Friends. Darkseid helps him because he wants to capture Wonder Woman and make her his bride. The storyboard pages are complete. Finding a complete set of storyboards is very rare, especially for shows that’s nearly 40 years old. Most storyboards were discarded once an episode was produced. The Legendary Super Powers Show was a revamp of the Super Friends series created to tie-in with Kenner’s Super Powers Collection of toys. It introduced young hero Firestorm (Mark Taylor) and villainous Darkseid (Frank Welker), both popular characters from the comics. Adam West (from the 1966 live-action Batman series) replaced Olan Soule and Shannon Farnon was replaced as Wonder Woman by Connie Cawlfield.

The cover has been reproduced in color and an acetate sheet has been added to keep it looking pristine. The pages are printed on one side. Great care has been taken to make this a piece that a collector will be proud to own and show off or frame. Get an inside look into the making of this iconic series.
