This print by Italian artist Nani Tedeschi depicts Swiss Formula One driver, Clay Regazzoni, behind two of his Ferrari F1 cars, the 1974 312 B3 and the earlier 312B. Regazzoni drove for Ferrari from 1970-1972, and from 1974-1976. His first win was a Ferrari fan-pleaser, in front of the team's home crowd at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, during his debut season.
Print is from the book, Ferrari e dintorni (Ferrari and Surroundings), beautifully rendered on a smooth, satiny stock. PLEASE NOTE: Any appearance of bowing is due to distortion from the camera—the print is perfectly straight and square.
Italian artist and illustrator, Nani Tedeschi, began his professional life as a physician, and a spare-time artist. But having his work included in several national exhibitions in the late 1960s and early 1970s convinced him to hang up his stethoscope and inhabit full-time a world filled with pen, paints, and paper. Later, he would add sculpture, ceramics, and glass working to his artistic repertoire. Tedeschi has held solo exhibitions around the world—including in Vienna, Hamburg, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paolo—and of course all over Italy.
Tedeschi's fascination with Ferrari began in 1985, and the book, Ferrari e dintorni was published in 1988 by Cassa di Risparmio di Modena.
Print is clean and crisp. Page measures approximately 8" x 11 3/4" (20 x 30 cm). Printed image measures 7" x 9" (18 x 24 cm).
