There was NO Best and Fairest cards released by Select Australia in season 2016. This is the only omission from 2003 to now.
The 5 Best and Fairest Cards collection from 2017 up to 2021 were all released as the Album Bonus Card randomly inserted in the corresponding Footy Stars Album, 1 card per album. Although the total production is not overly limited, as building the set of 18 requires minimum 18 albums, retailers played the role of opening multiple albums to help collectors building up the set. Consequently, the set between 2017 to 2021 are same as 2004 and 2011 Best and Fairest sets, quite hard to find the full collection.
2022 Best and Fairest cards were released as Bonus Card to Select AFL Club's album purchasing directly from Select website, limited edition to 250 each;
2023 Best and Fairest cards were released by Select through the Website sales based on customer's order.
