A very nicely hand carved (you can see toll marks inside) Chinese 19th century  jewellery or probably more likely a small document box. Decorated with  carved temple lions on long sides and ornate motifs elsewhere.

Base measurements 24.5cm x 9cm and height 13.5cm. Lovely clean box in nice condition with one nick to the tip of one corner of the lid - see last inage.
