The previously applied thermal compound as been left on as it is still viscous and usable (no hardening present) and will be shipped with the cooling system 'assembled' as it is more secured that way.

These cases are excellent for no noise and industrial applications. The only issues we've had is no clear indicator to tell you if computer is on and the front usb ports by the power button appear to be intermittent on some, although this could be a fault of the motherboard and not the case.
