This technical guide was published by Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons Ltd.  This publisher produced a long list of technical books in their "Pitman's Motorists Library" series. The first were published in the 1920s and they were reprinted and revised and new ones were introduced right up to the 1970s. They all contain enough information to enable the owner driver to service and maintain their vehicle.

They are all well illustrated and contain routine maintenance and trouble tracing, engine work, fuel systems, ignition systems, electrical systems and lubrication. They were an essential book for the do it yourself mechanic at the time and can still be very useful today
