Up for your consideration is a beautiful and rare year 2000 Martin J-1 Acoustic guitar. This guitar sounds like a Martin should...clear and well balanced. This guitar has a booming tone with each note and plays great. I love a Martin guitar that doesn't need a lot of bling or fancy, ornate binding / inlays, ect but still has that quintessential Martin tone and this guitar fits that perfectly. Take this guitar on the road or in the studio, it fits in well under any situation. We approve of this guitar! We wish Martin would reissue these as they punch way above their weight class in tone, playability and design!
It's a mini-Jumbo guitar which means it has the same basic shape of an 000 or an OM but is bigger and deeper, but the top of the soundbox is about the same as an 000.
Solid mahogany back and sides, solid Sitka spruce top and modest, dark tortoise-type binding. The top has some kind of toner or stain on it, so it is a dark tan.
