1961 Gibson GA-40 Tweed Les Paul amp in great condition. Very few of these ever have both the Les Paul & Gibson badges intact. The speaker code (1960) and transformer codes (all 1961) point to this as a 1961 amp. The original 2 prong power cable was converted to a grounded 3-prong plug albeit on the short side. Includes the original wood tremelo foot switch. All original except for the converted power cable and the worn out electrolytics replaced. This is an amazing amp.

First heard one of these decades ago and to me the power tube distortion from this amp was the sound of 70's rock. I spent nearly 20 years trying to find one that not only sounded great but wasn't beat to hell. I've had this one for a long time now and it's still one of my favorite amps ever (this and a 58 tweed Tremolux). Tinnitus has kept me from cranking amps for a loooong time now so I'm doomed to preamp distortion these days which is why I'm finally selling it.
