I have a large collection of Southeast Asian bronzes that I am downsizing now.

Most of the items were bought in the mid 90s from private collectors and auctions.

Here is a well formed, well cast and one of the most popular Hindu deities in the Indonesian Archipelago, Dewi [ Devi] Sri.

Dewi Sri is the rice and fertility goddess of the Hindu -Buddhist kingdoms of Java and Sumatra[ and other islands] from 5-16 century AD , In places such as Bali Lombok and others, up to these days.

This bronze is probably from central Java.

It is missing part of the right hand and the right leg.

There are several losses to the Mandrola and the base.

The patina is deep green with red hues at several places.

The face and body of the goddess are fine and delicate.
