Art Deco/ Art Nouveau Japanese Gouda Style Pottery Vases
Matching Pattern
c1920s-1930s

Here, a beautiful pair ceramic vases that were made in Japan sometime in the late 1920's and early 30's.  The unusual color combinations and floral motifs on a dark ground were inspired by ceramics from Gouda, Holland.

The larger Vase is unusual in that it has three small handles (one handle has been neatly repaired….please see last photo). The smaller vase has two handles and is in excellent condition. Both present beautifully.

Brown and Yellow hanging flowers and green and blue leaves on a pale yellow and black ground.
Both hand signed in cursive on bottom: “Made in Japan”
