PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY AND LOOK

DESCRIPTION:  7.25" H, 5.5" W, 2.5" depth.  Antique Vernis Martin box in the shape of a book.  Vernis (Farnish in french) Martin was developed in France in the 1700s by the Martin Brothers, Etienne, Simon, Guillaume, Julien and Robert.  Made out of lacquer, wood, paint and gilt.  I'm not sure how old this box is.  One side of box has two scenes.  Larger scene is of a couple out in the country with two angels or cherubs on the side.  Small scene at top is of a lady and two cherubs.  Inside of box is red lacquer.  Sides (pages) are gold gilt and top part of box gilt is worn off.  Other side of box scenes are worn off.  Neat old Vernis Martin box.

Condition:  Good per age. There is wear.  One side of box the two scenes are in good condition with light wear.  Other side of box and back side scenes are worn off of box.  Bottom rim has a small chunk off.  Please see all photos.  bxXB gray
