A nice small  antique fragment of pottery from the Anasazi Puebloan people who lived in the western four corners area.
this fragment was purchased Colorado from an antique dealer in the early 1980s. 43 years ago when permissable to do so.

the fragment is dated to approx. timeline of A.D. 200- A.D. 1300.

note the surface of the pottery has very fine distinctive marks used in its creation as decoration. possibly pine needles.
the thinness of the pottery wall in this fragment are all indications of high cultural skill making fine pottery.
this pot was probably a very small storage vessel or perhaps a small bowl form as its outside curvature is / short.

the clay is particularly fine and carefully chosen for size of sand granules to make only the best pottery.  the piece shows no painted or pigmented designs applied so this pot was probably for just utilitarian use.

size: 3-1/2 L. x 2 1/2" w.
