This is a vintage night shirt or nightgown from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. It is 100% cotton, home-made and accented at the collar and wrist with handmade lace. The button holes are hand worked. The measurements are : Shoulder to shoulder: 17”, Back-neck to hem: 56”, Under arm to hem: 45-1/2”. The fabric over all has a firm hand but there are several small breaks in the fabric as shown in the pictures and to be expected given the age of the garment. No attempt has been made to repair these and this will be left to the judgment of the next owner. No attempt has been made to whiten or alter the color of the night gown either by bleach or soak. It has only been washed.
