Subject matter includes battles, soldiers, victims, heroes, atrocities, victory parades, and the ships and newly invented airplanes. Text includes special essays on the destruction of Reims Cathedral, war machines, and camouflage. Text includes short biographies  for these printmakers including Lester Hornby, Kerr Eby, Joseph Pennell, Gustav Baumann, William Heaslip, Clayton Knight, B. J. O. Nordfeldt, George Bellows, John Taylor Arms, John MacGilchrist, and Cyrus Leroy Baldridge.
