This rare original albumen photo shows Capt Henry Gregson in the uniform of the just raised Lancashire Rifle Volunteers. Like his brother, Samuel, he was twice Mayor of Lancaster, in 1851 & again in 1861. This image was very easily removed from a Lancastrian album dated 1860.
The image measures 19cm x 15cm.
