A HOUSE DIVIDED

Strategic American Civil War Game including OPTIONAL RULES, explore the "what ifs" of history.. This strategic-level wargame of the American civil War is simple enough to appeal to nonwargamers but challenging enough for experience gamers.  It has very fow pieces to maneuver, and players have great freedom in choosing where to bring in new recruits each turn.  As a result, the focal point of the war can shift from the east to the west in a matter of a few turns.  Players spend much of the game fighting for control of a few key recruiting cities where new, less experienced troops are mobilized nearly as quickly as others are lost in battle.

True to history, the Confederates must strike quickly or be worn down by superior numbers.  Unlike history, this game can be painlessly and enjoyable repeated several times in an evening.

A House Divided has no difficult rules to master and no tricky tactics to learn.  Instead, players must think in purely stratgegic terms: where to bring in new recruits, which cities to fortify, whether at attack in the east or the west.  The two sides have different strengths and objectives, but the game is well balanced.  Novice and expert wargamers alike should find themselves coming back to this game over and over.
