Hello, I am offering these seed grown plants of Ulmus parvifolia or Chinese Elm.

Ulmus parvifolia is a classic species for bonsai culture. It has small foliage, short internotes, becomes twiggy quickly and absolutely beautiful bark. Not only does it have all of those good characterics, but it is also exceptionally vigorous and easy to grow. It is good for bonsai beginners, since it is so easy to handle, develops quickly and is also quite forgiving. It is also good for more experienced bonsai artists, since it responds so well to more advanced techniques.

Ulmus parvifolia is winter deciduous, and is hardy in the ground to USDA zone 5. It is less winter hardy in a pot, so protect from winter conditions in places with real winters.

This species can easily be wired, and is also a good candidate for the prune and grow method.

Styrax formosanus will eventually form a small tree up to fifty feet in height or so in the garden.

I ship as soon as I can after receiving the order, often the next day, but sometimes it takes a bit longer. If packing and shipping take longer than five days I usually reach out to the buyer to let them know what's going on and what the timeline is.
